Interview with Tony
What is your favourite piece of software/programming language?
My favourite language is now python. C was the first language I learned properly so I will always have a fondness with it. The main reason for adopting python is that it is the biggest language in academia, it typically has an SDK for emerging technologies and it fits well with machine learning techniques.
What superpower would you like to have?
To be able to see the future. I love the work we do, being able to see ahead and learn from any mistakes we make before we actually make them would be lovely.
Who is your role model and why?
My role model is my wife. It is a little corny but she does an amazing job with our children, contributes to the company and is tireless in supporting my ambition to use technology to solve problems for people.
What do you like to do when you're not at work?
I love to spend time with my family in anyway possible, however we all like taking photographs of the things we do together and making quirky videos. The children are always bringing joy to our lives in ways we couldn't imagine and I am so grateful for that.
In personal time for myself I like to cycle, getting on my bike is so relaxing and good for my health, I love road and mountain biking, they both have a place in my heart. I also love to watch Formula 1, it has technology, speed, development and sport, it just really does have it all for me.
What is your spirit animal?
I would say a tortoise. I like to retreat to my shell, hide away and work on things that are hard and take a lot of slow gradual effort. It feels purposeful. My only wish is I could retreat more as there are usually things that are pressing that I need to deal with.
